| Entertainment for Children in the 21st Century |

No one is going to take you seriously, if you try to make the case that
everything is the same as it was back in the 60s. The fact is that a
lot of changes have taken place over the years. For example, there were
no crack dealers that were pushing their dope outside of schools back
in the 60s.
There were also no unfortunate students afflicted with the
AIDS virus back then. As I said, times are really very different now.
You can see this clearly by looking at some of the current
entertainment for children.
There is good and bad forms of entertainment for children. With all of the film, television, and video games out there now days, there's bound to be some of everything.
We try to take full advantage of the good stuff at home. My six year old daughter loves to watch cartoons and Goosebumps. This is totally fine with me. It’s a lot better than the foul media concocted these days.
Books are also a great form of great entertainment for children. The key is to find wholesome books that they like to read. You can let them pick them the books by themselves. There would be no problems as long as the books they read are geared toward their age group.
Some books can even teach children some valuable lessons. There is also no violence and profanity in children’s books. My daughter loves to read fun stuff like Juniby Jones. I’m glad that she enjoys such simple entertainment for children.
Nowadays, the poor aspect of entertainment for children is in video games. Of course, there are some children's video games that are suitable for children. However, there are far too many "adult video games," and kids can easily get their hands on them.
These video games are full of horrific violence, strong language, and abuse. Did you know that there are even some games that literally have prostitutes? This type of games are not the right entertainment for children and they never will be. Parents should expose their young children to this violent form of entertainment.
