Though they may not be common, many people love to get their hands on backstage passes. I never have really, except for my husbands’ bands, but I don’t really care too much any more.

When I was a teenager though, I would have loved to get one to meet some of my favorite bands. It wouldn’t have mattered who either, because back then I had a long list of bands that I loved and would have loved to meet.

It never really happened, though in the end it never made any difference. I always had fun at the shows, and that was all I needed anyway.

I don’t have a long list of bands that I listen to today, and the days of wanting backstage passes are long behind me. I have one singer who I love to listen to, and I don’t really need backstage passes to see him.

I’ve quite often spent time with him, and for that I consider myself extremely lucky. Though now that his health is an issue, I don’t know when I’ll see him again.

I am still grateful for all that I have, however, and I look forward to the day when he sings again and I can hear him one more time.

Be careful about buying backstage passes off the Internet or from sites like eBay. For the most part, these are not for sale and are only given out to friends and family anyway.

Many bands love to meet their fans, but the big backstage blowouts aren’t what they used to be. Some fans may get back there, but they don’t give out the backstage passes like they used to.

If you see some for sale, you may not be buying or bidding on something that is real. If in doubt, call the organization to find out if it is legitimate or if someone is trying to dupe you.

In most cases, backstage passes are issued for special reasons. There are sometimes concert contests for fans, and they may win a pass or two this way, or sometimes they are given out for Make A Wish or another like organization.

What types of backstage passes out there will depend on the band or the performer. Some love to give them out, and others simply don’t have the time or energy to meet fans each night after playing long concerts. It’s a matter of luck and even a matter of knowing the right people.
