The Glitz and Glamour of Broadway Shows E-mail
I’m one of the people who enjoy going to a Broadway musical. In fact, it is one of my favorite activities. I will often take trips to New York City just to watch Broadway shows on the weekend, even though I live in the middle of New Jersey. I would probably have saved a fortune if I did not watch so many Broadway musicals.

The experience of seeing a Broadway musical is different from watching a show at the local theater. Broadway shows have more glitz, glamour, lights and songs.
On the other hand, shows on the local theater just have the same boring old stories that always hung up on things like plot and character development. I’m not sure that I can not pay attention to a whole show unless it is one of the Broadway shows.

However, some people think that the musical theater is just a cheap and boring gimmick. In their opinion, Broadway shows are made by people who do not have the talent to actually write a script on their own. They also think that song and dance numbers are inserted every few minutes to make up for lousy writing and to keep the audience entertained.

Of course, I do not agree because I think that theater needs song and dance numbers. A Broadway show without songs is not done in Broadway, it's done in Hollywood. People should either adapt plays for the big screen, or turn them in to Broadway shows if they don't want their plays to be seen as quaint and antiquated.

You should find something really accessible to go to if you have never been to Broadway shows before. I recommend the Phantom of the Opera because it is accessible. Phantom of the Opera is one of the best Broadway shows of all time. It has a simple and compelling story line, and a strong theme that will have you riveted to your seat.
